No. 13 North Carolina School of the Arts December 9, 1968 THE NUTCRACKER BALLET TO OPEN SATURDAY Scholarships Madame Eugene Ouroussow and Pat Wilde, both of the American School of Ballet, were guests of the ballet de partment several weeks ago. They were here for the purpose of awarding scholarships to talented young dan cers . Anne Patton and Victor Barbee received tuition scholarships for this year. They also received a full scholarship for tuition, room, and board at the School of American Bal let this coming summer. Jimmy Boyd, Cam Lorendo, Kenny Hughes, Nolan T'Sani, and Bryon Pitts were also adwarded summer scholar - ships. "I JUST GOT MY FOURTH CUT" (Sculpture by Clifford Earl) Tne School of Dance of the North Carolina School of the Arts will present the Nutcracker Ballet this Saturday and Sunday at Reynolds Auditorium. Patents, students and teachers are invited to the Friday evening Dress Rehearsal at 8:00 p.m. For the third consecutive year the Ballet has been a complete sell-out. This year there will be a cast of 75 dancers as well as 26 students from the Department of Design and Production. This year there will be a dou ble cast. Sugar Plum and her. Cavalier will be danced by Nolan T'Sani and Chris Spizzo; Buddy Smith and Svea Eklof. Cam Lorendo and Ilze Klavins will dance the role of Snow King and Queen.
